Agilex’ Quality Management Office is led by our Chief Quality Officer and reports directly to the Office of the President. It conducts independent program reviews each month to proactively assess the effectiveness of project risk and quality controls, as well as customer satisfaction. The Quality Management Office also works with our program managers to design project-specific controls and risk mitigation strategies, develop issue resolution plans, make programmatic decisions and execute programs.
Based upon the Project Management Institute’s PMBOK® guides, Agilex has developed a formalized program management methodology for executing contracts and related task orders. Both customer-facing and back-office staff use the program, working closely to consistently meet (or exceed) client expectations in terms of timeliness, adherence to budget, quality, and effectiveness.
We are also a recognized leader in the public sector in the use of agile software development disciplines, such as Scrum for project management. Both the Office of Management & Budget and the Department of Defense have mandated the use of these more iterative approaches for major software development programs.
The benefits of agile include faster time-to-value, greater responsiveness to changing requirements, better real-time visibility and more stringent quality control. We often deliver major software releases in half the time otherwise required. For a recent project, overall defect rates were as low as 0.08 defects per function point--far below the industry average of 0.75 and even better than best-in-class levels.
And as one client testified to Congress, “...this team has been highly accurate, from my view, in what they tell me about what is going on. [The monthly project plans] are very, very good.”
