Capitalize on HITECH Funding

Prepared for Meaningful Use?

Within a year, healthcare providers will be eligible for significant federal funding for the Meaningful Use of a certified electronic health record (EHR) system. Criteria for Meaningful Use include access to a health information exchange as well as the ability to electronically submit reporting data on specific clinical quality measures. Beginning in FY2015, escalating financial penalties can be assessed to Medicare providers that have failed to demonstrate Meaningful Use of the technology.

NHIN CONNECT: Proven, Open Source Solution for Meaningful Use

The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) has spearheaded the development of a secure, standards-based system – the Nationwide Health Information Network (NHIN) – for meeting these reporting and interoperability requirements. Organizations can participate in NHIN through the use of the CONNECT Gateway, an open-source, turnkey platform that is readily customizable to the unique requirements of providers large and small. ONC is in the process of updating CONNECT to fully support Meaningful Use reporting requirements.

CONNECT with Agilex for Meaningful Use

Agilex is the CONNECT expert, with unsurpassed experience in the technology:

  1. During her tenure as chief information officer for the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Agilex’ Melissa Chapman established the Federal Health Architecture (FHA) initiative that developed the CONNECT Gateway.
  2. Our Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Wendell Ocasio, MD, played a central role in designing the underlying NHIN architecture.
  3. Agilex continues to be a core member of the development team building the CONNECT Gateway, a role that we’ve held since the inception of the ONC-led effort.

Distinguishing Agilex from other software providers, our core focus is on the integration and interoperability of enterprise electronic health record and clinical information systems. We help both public and private sector organizations leverage the CONNECT Gateway to link these systems to NHIN. By doing so, we can help them achieve Meaningful Use more quickly, confidently and cost-effectively than otherwise possible.
