• Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) - A configuration of a single Oracle database running on a set of cluster-connected computers, sharing access to each other’s memory space through a high-speed network interconnect and a common storage area.

2. Hot Pluggable when using local (private) software installations within the cluster
3. In-place capacity expansion by adding computers to the cluster and extending the database to new nodes
4. In-place computer hardware upgrades by adding more powerful computers to the cluster and removing older nodes
• Oracle Automatic Storage Management (ASM) - Integrated file system and disk storage volume management system specifically built for handling database storage needs.

2. Hot Pluggable through adding disks and automatic rebalancing of database files
3. In-place capacity expansion through adding new disks to existing mirror groups and removing older disks
• Oracle Data Guard (DG) - Database-specific remote mirroring capability in which database changes are recorded and sent over the network to multiple locations.
